Saxony’s cultural and creative industries as employers and economic sectors
The cultural and creative industries are a competitive employer and a strong economic sector in Saxony. Measured in terms of sales and gross value added, the software and games industry, the press market and arts and crafts are among the strongest submarkets of Saxony’s culture and creative industries. (as of 2020)
Almost half of Saxony’s cultural and creative enterprises are based outside the major cities of Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig: cultural and creative industries are therefore by no means an urban phenomenon.
